This qualification, is regulated by both Ofqual and the Home Office, and has been designed to meet the statutory requirements of the Licensing Act 2003. Furthermore, whilst comprehensively covering the full framework as set down by the Government, this qualification is extremely straight-forward, user-friendly and free from unnecessary jargon. Achievement of this qualification forms an essential part of the personal licence application and enables those selling or authorising alcohol sales to operate both legally and responsibly. Attendees will receive a fully accredited certificate upon successful completion of the examination, which can then be used to apply for the Personal Alcohol Licence.
What does it cover?
The aim of this qualification is to provide individuals with essential knowledge of the legal framework surrounding the sale of alcohol in England and Wales. This includes key information on the responsibilities of personal licence holders, duties of the designated premises supervisor, the role of licensing authorities and police powers regarding licensed premises.
Exam and Certificate
Exam: It is assessed by a one-hour, 40-question multiple-choice examination. Learners must achieve a mark of at least 28 in order to pass.
Certificate: Once passed, and certificates received learners can apply for their personal licence, or contact us at GlobeUs Training as we offer an administrative service to do this on the learner’s behalf.

Course information – on the day
Time: The Course starts 9.30am and finishes usually 4.30pm.
Refreshments: Tea, coffee and water provided – Lunch is not included
Course structure: Theory followed by multiple choice exam. Exam consists of 40 questions and lasts for up to 1 hour.
Resources: All candidates receive a course handbook to keep
Certificates: Results are normally received within 10 working days and certificates are issued within 5 working days of this
Resits: All candidates qualify for one free re-sit if they don’t achieve the qualification at the first attempt
