Personal Licence Course in Bristol

Accredited Course: Personal Licence Course – Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH)

Qualification accreditation number 500/9974/7

Personal licence training course, regulated by both Ofqual and the Home Office, has been designed to meet the statutory requirements of the Licensing Act 2003. Furthermore, whilst comprehensively covering the full framework as set down by the Government, this qualification is extremely straight-forward, user-friendly and free from unnecessary jargon. It also provides excellent value for money without compromising on quality.

Achievement of this qualification forms an essential part of the personal licence application in England or Wales. It enables those selling or authorizing alcohol sales to operate both legally and responsibly.

Attendees of this Personal Licence Course will receive a fully accredited certificate upon successful completion of the examination, which can then be used to apply for the Personal Alcohol Licence to the local licensing authority.

All our personal licence courses are led by an experienced tutor, who makes sure that the ambience during the training course is friendly and professional.

If none of the dates suit you, we do offer approved personal licence courses online. It is an online e learning course with a remotely invigilated exam. Further details here.

What does it cover?

The aim of this qualification is to provide individuals with essential knowledge of the legal framework surrounding the sale of alcohol in England and Wales. This includes key information on the responsibilities of personal licence holders, duties of the designated premises supervisor, the role of licensing authorities and police powers regarding licensed premises.

Modules covered during 1 day full course:

  • The Licencing Act 2003
  • Personal Licence
  • Premises Licence
  • The Protection of children
  • Powers and enforcement
  • Temporary Event Notice
  • Responsibility in alcohol retailing

Our experienced tutor will make sure that all attendees are well prepared to sit the exam in the afternoon. There will be some tasks to complete after each module and mock exam at the end of the training session. Mock exam will be discussed together as a group to clarify correct answers.

  • 2 passport-size photographs (endorsed)
  • DBS check
  • Copy of passport (or proof of right to work in the UK)
