Another month has rolled on by, and June saw the best summer weather I think we’ve had in a long time! A tad rainy towards the end, but at least July has brought the sunshine and warmth back. These lazy summer days are wonderful, aren’t they? Sun-lounging in the garden, barbecues, beaches… long may it continue!

June also saw the Summer Solstice – the longest day of the year and half way through 2017. We had an election, Dot Cotton had a fall in Eastenders, and Aneta and Ellen completed the Bournemouth Race for Life which is always a highlight in our calendar. July is another exciting month for us all – Wimbledon started on Monday and whilst we do try to remain impartial… COME ON ANDY!

For Team GlobeUs, we had the wonderful honor of welcoming Lauren to our team; Lauren joins our Childcare Assessing Team over in Apprenticeships and has already hit the ground running. Apprenticeships funding is still being revised with the SFA, but we were delighted to welcome on board several new Apprentices this month, including 3 from a Levy-paying employer. We are also grateful to HTP Training for continuing to work with us in partnership and hope to work with them for a long time into the future.

We saw the sad news recently in FE Week of Learndirect redundancies, with 1 in 10 staff members facing the consultation; this seems to have come about after the disappointing Achievement Rate for the last year. It is a reminder to us all of the importance of engaging with our learners and employers, and how we all contribute to the overall success of Apprenticeships.

This month we launch our brand new Equality and Diversity Newsletter, covering all topics from E+D, Safeguarding, Health and Well Being, and the Prevent Duty. Would you like to be included on the mail list? Send us an email to info@globeustraining.com and we’d be delighted to send it to you. We’ll also publish it on our website so keep watching our news feed for the latest edition.

Over on the Compliance side of GlobeUs, we had a first in June – a Bi-Lingual course! We ran an Emergency First Aid course for EasyGym Southampton on the 23rd, delivering in English and Polish simultaneously. This meant the team was able to attend on the same day rather than needing to take a couple of days off from their day-to-day jobs. It was a really interesting and successful day and we very much look forward to running another.

Personal Licence is still very popular; we had a couple of sell-out courses in June, and July is already booking up quickly. August, September and October dates are now added to the website, so please feel free to book in advance if you need to. We’ve revised all APLH dates for the rest of the year so our most popular locations are every 3 weeks – this should help to prevent anyone from missing out but do let us know if you need a course sooner.

Well, that’s the main news round up from us this month! We hope you are all enjoying the summer and get to have a break at some point.

With best wishes,

Team GlobeUs
