Winter is now far behind us and we have already experienced a little taste of summer with some warm and sunny days in March. The clocks went forward just over a week ago, meaning longer days, lighter evenings, and the faint smell of barbecues in the air!

Easter is fast approaching and we are very much looking forward to the small break to regroup before moving forward. It has been a very busy few weeks for GlobeUs Training and I think we’ll all enjoy a couple of extra days to sit back and enjoy munching on some Easter treats!

One major thing announced last month was the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers, and we are delighted to be included on it. This means we will now be able to deliver Apprenticeships directly, which is an incredibly exciting prospect for the company. The Levy and Apprenticeship reforms are coming into effect in 4 weeks, so make sure you are prepared for what the changes might mean to you and your company.

The new Apprenticeship Standards aim to add value to Apprenticeship programmes, and to offer more opportunity to those wishing to learn and earn at the same time; an exciting prospect announced recently is that of Degree-level Apprenticeships, at Levels 6 and 7, available in fields such as Management, Science, and Engineering amongst many others. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone wishing to learn at this level and it really adds weight to how valuable and worthwhile Apprenticeship programmes are. Though, we already know that, don’t we!

The National Apprenticeship Awards have now opened for nominations; the categories are:

  • Employer of the Year
  • Apprentice of the Year
  • Apprenticeship Champion of the Year

If you think you would like to enter, or have someone in mind that deserves to be recognised for their work, more information can be found on the National Apprenticeships Awards website: https://www.apprenticeawards.co.uk/. Entries close on the 26th May at 5pm.

We held our own Apprenticeship Awards in March as part of our celebrations for National Apprenticeships Week 2017. I am sure you will have seen lots of statistics, facts and photos on our Social Media pages and we hope you enjoyed reading a bit more about how Apprenticeships benefit us all.

As ever, thank you for reading and we look forward to whatever April may bring us – one thing’s for sure though, we’re forever grateful for the ongoing support along the way.
